What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin car procedure in which we apply a highly controlled stream of fine crystals and suction to the surface layer of the skin. This gentle abrasion works to remove dead skin cells, unblock clogged pores, and smooth the surface of stretch marks, scars, blemishes and uneven skin tones. Not only does microdermabrasion remove dead skin cells, but it also stimulates new cell growth.

How is Microdermabrasion Performed?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure, so there is no anesthesia necessary. Dr. Davison performs it right here in our Framingham office, and it takes approximately 45 minutes. The procedure itself involves applying a stream of fine crystals and suction to slough off dead skin cells.
Am I a Good Candidate for Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion perfect for those who want to reduce the appearance of age spots, dark pigmentation and sun-damaged skin. It can effectively minimize large pores and improve the look of small scars and surface acne. However, microdermabrasion is not perfect for everyone. If you have heavily damaged or sagging skin, microdermabrasion may not be the procedure for you. Also, if you have active acne, rosacea, herpes or certain other conditions, you may not be a suitable candidate. Please discuss your medical history with Dr. Davison prior to electing any treatment.
What are the Typical Results of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is highly effective in improving skin's tone, texture and color. With the dead layer of skin gone, the new, healthier cells are able to form, giving way to a more youthful and glowing complexion. You can see for yourself by viewing some microdermabrasion before and after pictures.
What are Microdermabrasion Costs?
Microdermabrasion costs will depend on the patient, while you may require more than one treatment for optimal results. Your surgeon will discuss all of your goals and the proper treatment plan for you during your initial consultation, so give us a call today and we'd be happy to schedule it for you.
