The Vanishing Vein

Leg Ulcers

One of the most serious complications of varicose veins is leg ulcers. These open sores on the leg are caused by inflammation, and too much pressure in the veins. The pressure is so great that the blood cannot exit the skin. As time progresses the scaring leads to even poorer blood flow. While ulcers often occur in elderly patients, they can occur in anyone with severe vein disease. If you notice leg ulcers, you should call us immediately, as treatment may take weeks or months before it is properly healed. In most cases, we can achieve initial wound closure of a venous ulcer in 30 days.

Dr. Brian Davison and the rest of the team at The Vanishing Vein are proud to provide vein treatments and other cosmetic procedures to patients throughout Framingham, Boston, Newton, Worcester, Cambridge, Lowell and Quincy, MA. We service all of New England.
